01/2008Robotic Cell for Food processing.
RDS, Inc. has introduced new robotic cell for Beef and Pork processing. The
robot can identify the area of the carcasses to be processed by vision camera
and engage with the continuously moving product to perform various vision guided
operations.
12/2007New Technology for Robotic Bag Palletizing.
Rapid Development Services, Inc. developed new Robotic Bag Palletizing Cell
capable of handling 1, 2 or 3 bags per cycle. This cell can provide flexibility
of palletizing various size bags without gripper replacement. The advantages of
this new technology is its ability to palletize bags by controlling overlap of
the face to face wedged top of the bags to create accurate, stable, bags inward
leaning pallets.
11/2007Robotic Cell for Aircraft Rivets Fabrication.
RDS, Inc. built robotic cell for secondary fabrication of the aircraft rivets.
The system is designed to handle various size rivets and provide crimping and
gauging of the product. Dual sets of tooling has allowed for uninterrupted
production while one set of tooling is prepared for set up and calibrated,
another set is accessed by the robot.
8/2007 Robotic System for Chlorine Chemical Tablets Packing.
RDS, Inc has developed robotic handling system for chlorine materials utilizing
three robots with conveying and staging for product placement in pails. The
system is capable of loading product in pails at the rate of up to 500 parts per
minute.
6/2007 Robotic Screw Driving Cell.
RDS, Inc. developed new type of Robotic Screw -driving Cell for appliance
assembly. This Cell employs six axis robots capable of driving self tapping
screws at variety of angles in relation to the work surface. The cell has
ability to feed short screws that cannot be fed by conventional tube feeding.
The rate of the system is up to 20 screws per minute. The torques limits can be
set and location of the passed or failed screws are displayed. System includes
feeding and registration conveyor to transfer appliance in and out of the Cell.
5/2007
Rapid Development Services, Inc. has moved to a new location in order to expand our operations and service our clients better.
The new plant has an increased 108,000 square feet of heavy industrial space and significantly upgraded electrical power.
The building is located near the intersection of Lindbergh Blvd. and Page Ave. and is a well known St. Louis landmark.
4/2007
Rapid Development Services, Inc. has introduced a Modular Robotic Screw-driving Cell for large appliance assembly, including dishwashers, washer, dryer, AC and Furnace applications.
The system is capable of automatically feeding and driving hexagonal screws at a rate of 4 seconds per screw.
10/2006
Rapid Development Services, Inc. has developed a new model of Automatic Pallet Dispenser, the PD-120.
It is designed to handle different sized pallets and can dispense and restack them at a rate of 120 per hour.

3/2006
Rapid Development Services, Inc. introduced new method for robotic case
packing of plastic bottles. The same system can be adjusted to stage
multiple bottles in various arrays, pick and place bottles from 2 oz to
1.5 liters. This system uses 6-axis robot that can provide additional
guiding inside the formed case. System can place up to 48 bottles per
cycle at up to 150 bottles per minute overall rate. This system can
pack bottles with pumps as well as bottles with difficult to handle features.
1/2006
Rapid Development Services, Inc. developed a new system for dispensing
of the high viscosity creams for a single doze pharmaceutical applicators.
This machine uses RDS, Inc. system with a positive displacement pump to
control the amount of dispensed material to +/- 5mg accuracy. System also
provides verification and weight control that can measure amount of
material dispensed with accuracy of +/- 2mg.
3/2005
Rapid Development Services, Inc. developed machine for completely
automated assembly and packaging of various CD and DVD media.
2/2005
Rapid Development Services, Inc. received Notice of Allowance from US
Patent Office on the patent, covering basic module for Robo-mation
technology.
Robo-mation is a Rapid Development Services, Inc. registered trademark.
This technology is for high speed flexible assembly and packaging. It is
based on programmable position, acceleration and velocity devices with
multiple parts handling capability. Robo-mation has been successfully
applied for a standard FFS packaging machines loading and case packing.
12/2004
Rapid Development Services, Inc. developed robotic line for breath
strips manufacturing. This system handles edible film and provides
cutting, stacking, cassette feeding, loading, assembly and labeling at
the rate of up to 100 cassettes per minute. Separate Form Fill and seal
machine packs cassetes into pouches at the rate of up to 300 cassettes
per minute.
